Administrative Assistant – John F. Kennedy University Community Counseling Center in Concord, is seeking an Administrative Assistant for the East Contra Costa Mental Health Initiative (ECCMHI). This is a part-time 16 hours per week position, weekdays with occasional Saturdays. Salary is based on qualifications and experience. This is a non-exempt, grant-funded position.

The requirements for this position include BA degree preferred, Associate degree or equivalent required, a minimum of three years’ experience in an administrative support role and one year customer service experience. Aptitude needed to work on multiple projects in a busy environment with frequent interruptions. Ability to provide assistance to students and staff, and interact with the external community in a professional manner. Excellent follow-through and administrative efficiency are essential. Excellent organizational, written and oral communications skills and advanced computer skills are vital; Proficiency in Excel, a must. Work experience in academic environment helpful. Familiarity with office procedures and equipment required (i.e. fax, copier). Also required is the ability to demonstrate sensitivity in handling confidential information.

This is an administrative staff support position reporting to the ECCMHI Coordinator, who in turn reports directly to the Center’s Executive Director. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Accessing information and running reports; keeping of information in data bases related to students and clients provided services as a function of the ECCMHI, including but not limited to Los Medanos College, MOW/SOS, School Base Program and Family Resiliency Project. Use of spreadsheet, word processing, email systems as well as, Medi-Cal and Valant software systems. Assist with development of schedule-related guidelines and protocols to support the Center and the East Contra Costa Mental Health Initiative. Reporting to the East Contra Costa Mental Health Initiative Coordinator, the Administrative Coordinator will participate in a wide variety of clerical and administrative tasks of a non-clinical nature, including community events as needed.

The successful candidate will possess the ability to present herself or himself professionally and act with tact and diplomacy with a diverse constituency. Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
