Admissions Counselor, Office of Admissions, John F. Kennedy University, Pleasant Hill campus. This is a 40 hours per week position, Monday through Friday 9am – 6pm. This grade 4, nonexempt position includes vacation and sick leave benefits as well as a flexible benefit plan that includes medical, dental, 403(b) eligibility, long term disability, dependent care, voluntary life and/or long term care insurance and tuition waiver benefits.

The requirements for this position include: a bachelor’s degree; one to three years of college/university recruiting experience or equivalent experience; excellent interpersonal and communications skills; and proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, email, and database management. The ability to represent the university to prospective students and the community at large cannot be overstated. Travel to different events around the bay area may be required, thus a California driver’s license and auto insurance is required. (A California DMV printout may be requested.)

The Admissions Counselor is responsible for supporting the University in meeting its enrollment goals. Specifically, responsibilities of the Admissions Counselor include providing timely and professional response and follow up to inquiries and applicants and guiding students through the application and admissions processes with accurate information on programs and application requirements. In addition, the Admissions Counselor serves as liaison between the programs and Office of Admissions in development and implementation of recruiting strategies and supporting and attending open house events, information sessions and other program-related events.

The successful candidate will be an energetic individual with college/university and/or recruiting experience who is able to work effectively with a diverse, adult constituency.
